Bastille Linux has also been updated in order to add some features and modes. There are two modes available now known as Assessment and Hardening. Assessment mode was created to scan the current settings of configuration options already hardened by Bastille. It offers one information about the state of the above mentioned options and scores the security of your host in accordance with a ten-grade scale. Thus, you are able to get the detailed report about every option and react adequately.

Hardening mode offers the user to answer some questions. Then the program makes conclusions which are based on the user's answers and offers her to choose the most appropriate configuration options. This process can be run multiple times in order to choose the settings which are necessary for you or just re-harden the system if your host has had any security controls reverted.
